William Francis Schmitt is the son of William Jude Schmitt and Janet Patricia Hurley.
He was born in Astoria, New York, and grew up in Hempstead and West Hempstead, New York, attending George Washington Elementary School for Kindergarten and First Grade, St. Thomas the Apostle Elementary School for grades 2 through 8, and Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York.
After graduating from High School, he attended and graduated from Fairfield University, in Fairfield, CT, with a degree in Accounting. His last year at Fairfield, he lived with Stephen Machuga on Fairfield Beach, and their friendship has continued. Accounting was not a strong skill and while at Fairfield, he discovered Computing and his career went in that direction.
While at Fairfield, he met Nancy Jean Pranulis and they were married about a year and a half after graduating. They have 3 children; William Joseph Schmitt, Rebecca Anne Schmitt, and Harry Joseph Schmitt II.
His professional career began with the Service Bureau Company, and continued (so far) with Mobius Management Systems/Systar Technologies, TXBase, AirMedia, Muze, and the Village Group.
